"Passionately Pursuing Excellence"
Our Wedding Photographers Tampa have come to love doing weddings in this beautiful “city by the bay”. From the Rusty Pelican to the Downtown Hilton or the Florida Aquariam, Tampa is increasingly becoming a favorite location for destination weddings, with some unique locations for weddings. We will share a few tips on wedding photography at Tampa’s most popular venues.
What better way to enjoy the lights of Downtown Tampa than on one of Yacht Starship’s Fleet of yachts. Doing wedding photography from a moving Yacht is great because it gives you a variety of backgrounds. Yacht Starship has 2 different Yachts sailing out of Tampa currrently. The Yacht Starship 2 is the midsize Yacht which you can see in the video above can easily accomodate 150 passengers. The Yacht Starship 1 is the Largest ship which can hold 600 passengers. The Yacht Sensation, the smallest of the fleet now sailing out of Tampa for smaller wedding. The new Yacht Starship 4 (similiar size to Starship 2) sails out of Clearwater Beach which you can see on our Clearwater Photographers Gallery. The staff of Yacht Starship is amazingly friendly, the food is great, and the night scenery sailing down the channels in downtown Tampa provide a nice romantic atmosphere.
The Rusty Pelican is always highly reviewed for its great food and excellent waterfront location. The Gazebo sits right on the shores of old Tampa Bay. This can make for some great wedding photography, however it is important to have an experience photographer who is able to compensate for lighting challenges. Often at the ceremony site, due to its location, half the area will be in sun light and half in shade. We have shot many weddings at this location and know how to properly deal with the lighting situations. The aerial shots with a drone are a must, however you must have a drone operater who is able to get permission from Air Traffic Control at Tampa International Airport. The shots at Dusk are just tremendous shooting both outside or even inside either the Grand Ballroom or the Pelican Room with the soft light off Tampa Bay is just incredible.
The Crystal Ballroom has locations all over Florida. The inside of all the Crystal Ballroom are very elegant with fancy chandeliers. This is a sample of our Little Book, from a wedding at the Crystal Ballroom.
One of Tampa’s most amazing ceremony site the Florida Aquarium’s Coral Reef Room. The views are “breath-taking”, and provide our photographers in Tampa a unique aquatic background. This beautiful ceremony location features a 500,000 gallon Floor to Ceiling Tank. We purchased $1,600 low light lense specifically for doing weddings in this room. It is very important to have experience photographers who know how to shoot in a low light atmosphere. If your ceremony and reception are in the Coral Reef Room, you will only have about 10 minutes for pictures, so a Photographer has to know how to move quick, and prioritize the shots you want. We will typically do shots of parents and bridal party in the Tunnel Tank Area or the Wet Lands Area, so we can use as much time in the Coral Reef Room for the Bride and Groom Portraits. We have a pinterest page which is dedicated to our photographers in Tampa shooting weddings at the Florida Aquarium.
Davis Island Garden Club provides a colorful natural scenery with its lush tropical and subtropical plants and a gazebo that sits on the Tampa Waterfront. It is very convenient, and does not have the restrictions that other wedding venues can have. There is no time restrictions, as you rent the venue for the whole day so plenty of time to set up decorations and allow the reception to go late into the evening. It has a back patio under covering which is perfect for the cocktail hour and to set up your bar at. This garden area gives our wedding videographers in Tampa a variety of backgrounds for cinematic video. In the video above we used 5 cameras and a drone. Also the Davis Island Garden Club right on Bayshore Blvd also has a great garden area for the wedding. It is not on the water, however the Bay is right across Bayshore Blvd.
The Lowry Park Zoo provides a nice tropical atmosphere for your wedding, and great opportunities for unique and exotic wedding photography. The Ituri Forrest provide a tranquil ambient tropical surroundings for the wedding ceremony. Where else can you get married, surrounded by Giraffes, Zebras, Pigmy Hippos, and other exotic animals. At Lowry Park zoo, you can experience Animal Encounters, a time after the ceremony where the guests, and the bride and groom get to touch and feed exotic animals. Wedding receptions at the Safari Lodge are just incredible, its one of the few venues where you really do not need any uplighting.
In the center of Downtown Tampa is the Downtown Hilton, which you can see in the reception portion of the video above. A scenic urban brick waterfall in Franklin Street Mall provides excellent opportunities for photography and Video. Opening in September will be the new Franklin Terrace, with a beautiful view of the the Franklin Street Mall. It is also an easy walk from the Hilton to the historic Tampa Theatre, which always makes for a great backgrown in front of the lighted Marquee.
At the Sheraton Riverwalk, the ceremony can be in the Riverview Room, which has circular ceiling to floor windows which faces the waterfront. It offers amazing wedding photography opportunities at dusk and even after dark with the night colored lights around The Riverwalk, just outside the Main Ballroom where the reception is at, as you can see on this video. For additional great areas for pictures and video, it is an easy walk across the Hillsborough River to the University of Tampa. It is super convenient with plenty of rooms for your guests to stay. Now with the new Pirate Water Taxi, you can easily travel to other parts of Tampa’s Downtown Water District on a fun ferry ride.
Downtown Tampa continues to grow and has several great hotels that are very popular with weddings including The Marriott Waterside an elegant five-star hotel, The Embassy Suites Downtown Tampa, provides great areas for contemporary photography, and The Westin Harbour Island Hotel. Harbour Island being right on the Channel gives you great water scenery and with the night lights reflecting on the water, it, allows for some spectacular photography. We film many of our Love Stories in the Downtown Tampa, because the night lighting around Harbour Island & Tampa Convention Center is glistening.
Near the University of Tampa is a “sophisticated elegant” venue, the Oxford Exchange, a coffee shop / book store by day, intimate wedding venue by night. For artistic shots, the Oxford Exchange is a wedding photographers Tampa dream. Tampa also has some great Country Clubs. We love green in the background, because it tends to provide better contrast to your pictures, which makes your colors “pop”. Tampa Palms Country Club is one of our favorites, because like most good country clubs, it has lakes, wooden bridges, rolling hills, trees, however, at Tampa Palms they are all right near the ceremony site. Therefore the bridal party does not have to walk very far. The ceremony is in the beautiful circular veranda overlooking the lake and waterfall. Tampa Palms also has elegant pillars on the front part of the building which gives you opportunities for some stunning elegant wedding photos. Some other great country clubs in Tampa are Pebble Creek, Hunters Green Country Club and Carrollwood Country Club. We do weddings across the state of Florida, however this city by the bay is home for our photographers in Tampa, and therefore, we can give your great advice about these venues. See all our our Tampa Weddings on you tube below. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We consistently make our brides happy, see our recent reviews. Clearwater is a scenic drive over the Cortney Cambell Causeway which has some unique venues as well. See our Clearwater Videographers Gallery.
