Weddings at The Rusty Pelican
We did 2 weddings at the Rusty Pelican in the last 4 weeks sandwiching my trip up north shooting Niagara Falls & New Hampshire. Being I did not have time to blog about the first Rusty Pelican wedding before I left, I figured I’d include both weddings in this article.
The first Wedding of Justin & Amanda Calabrese at the Rusty Pelcian in Tampa. The preceremony and first look was at the Westin Tampa Bay on the Cortney Campbell Causeway. We used the Wine Room at the Westin for the first look which made from some creative photography. Some very well thought out vows from Amanda & Justin on this wedding.
The 2nd Rusty Pelican Wedding was of Laura & Austin Cook at the Rusty Pelican. We started at the Westin Tampa Bay, capturing the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready.
At the Rusty Pelican, we really wanted an outdoor wedding, especially with this being the first wedding with our new Phantom 3 drones, but with a downpour of rain starting during the processional, we had to move indoors to the Pelican Room for the Ceremony. Fortunately rain ended after ceremony so was able to do some pictures outside. Flew the drone inside the Pelican Room for a group shot, something I would not have attempted with the Phantom 2 drone, but with the better GPS stabilized Phantom 3 drone, it worked really good. We also used a new lense on this wedding, the Canon f2.8 24-70 lense. When I first received this lense, I was disappointed to find it it did not have image stabilization, and was tempted to send it back, however after seeing the sharp picture from this lense, I decided to keep it and continue to use it and will just have to work at holding it steady because, it is a great piece of glass. The picture quality is similiar similiar look to the Canon f2.8 70-200 lense.
Great working with Frank Lebano, one of Tampas better DJs, he always makes a great reception, so personable. Photography & Video by Celebrations of Tampa Bay https://celebrationsoftampabay.com/
